Christopher Stuchul

The Beta Phi Omega Alumni Association is proud to announce that it has awarded another $500 scholarship through the offices of Wright State University Financial Aid. The recipient of this award is Christopher Stuchul. Mr. Stuchul is a senior at Wright State and is majoring in nursing through the Miami Valley College of Nursing and Health. Mr. Stuchul is currently completing his pediatric labor and delivery clinical rotation.

Beta Phi Omega regularly accepts application for educational scholarship from members of its fraternity. The Scholarship Committee awards financial assistance when a member of Beta Phi Omega has demonstrated financial need and the desire to assist his community. Mr. Stuchul is from a small Ohio town and he has maintained employment at two local businesses to assist in financing his education. Mr. Stuchul has been an active member of Beta Phi Omega and he served as its academic chair during the 2006-2007 school year. As the fraternity’s academic chair, he is responsible for arranging study groups, monitoring the fraternity members’ grade point average and assisting those fraternity members who may be experiencing some academic difficulty.

Mr. Stuchul has also assisted the fraternity in raising funds for United Rehabilitation Services which assists children suffering from cerebral palsy. He has further demonstrated his desire to assist the community by volunteering in “Making Strides”, a fund raising effort in support of breast cancer research.

While maintaining two job, serving many hours as a volunteer and assisting his Fraternity Brothers with their academic progress, Mr. Stuchul has maintained a 3.3 grade point average. Mr. Stuchul will graduate with a bachelor of science degree from Wright State in November, 2008 and he plans to work as a registered nurse for the next 2-3 years to gain practical experience. Mr. Stuchul further intends to work at a children’s medical center as he has a strong desire to specialize in pediatric nursing.

The current members and alumni of Beta Phi Omega congratulates Mr. Stuchul for his hard work, his dedication to his community and to the excellent academic strides which he has made at Wright State University. Mr. Stuchul will be able to apply this $500 scholarship to any further academic education which will advance his nursing career or to assist in financing his certification and licensing as a nurse.

Fan Website [link] / My Space web page [link]

Hello All,

As some of you may already be aware one of our own is on national TV right now. Brandon “BO” Kunkle Beta Kappa Spring 2002 is appearing on MTV show Shot at love 2 with Tila Tequila It is on Tuesday Nights at 10 PM.

Tune in (after the kids are in bed -- this is an adult show) -- think the bachelor MTV style. Drop him a note and support him. I am told he is getting good screen time this coming Tuesday.

This is really neat - be sure to click on "The link to his show Fan Website" as MTV keeps track of the number of people who check on it - it helps his TV time = makes him more popular.

Fraternally Yours,
Mark Cooper AK89

On Monday, July 16th, I had a brainstem stroke. I just got out of the hospital Saturday, July 28th. I currently do not have any sensation (can't feel hot or cold, needles or pin pricks, it is just numb) on my entire left side of my body. I can move everything on that side. I am also still trying to get my swallowing back. The left side of my throat is affected like the rest of the left side. It is like I have a division right down the center of my body and everything on the left is affected.

It is weird to put ice in my mouth and feel the cold on the right and body temperature on the left.

Well, I just thought that I would drop you a line and let you know. Any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin Kight Update

As of April 11, 2007 the guy who murdered Panama City Beach, FL police officer Kevin Kight, was sentenced to death.

I'm sending this update to you as you likely either knew Kevin from Fairborn High School, Wright State University where he obtained a BA in Psychology and was a member of the Beta Phi Omega Fraternity (Alpha Mu 1990) or you didn't know him at all, but are a police officer. After leaving FHS and WSU, Kevin was a Germantown police officer before moving to FL where he worked with the Panama Beach PD.

Hi all! The Gaudette gang just got back from Hocking Hills, Ohio. We rented a cabin and explored the gorges and caves for a few days. The boys loved going on lots of hiking "adventures!"

Hope everyone is well!

Walk America for the March of Dimes with the Dayton Mothers of Twins Club

This is truly a wonderful charity who has touched many lives. As you know Jake and Katie were born prematurely at 28 weeks and stayed in NICU at Miami Valley 58 days. To donate, please visit this link.

Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.  Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Sincerely,
Colleen Cooper

Chris Walker - email

I am doing some fundraising for a great cause and I could use some help.  I'm getting my head shaved to raise money for kids with cancer. My brother-in-law's business partner's kid has cancer and that's how I got interested in this. Anyway, people pledge money and then I get my head shaved.

If you can put a link to St Baldricks.org  people can make secure donations on line that would be great.

TERRY LEWIS Running For Judge in Vandalia!!!
(From Brother Fred Crammer - email)

Terry Lewis, a founding father of the fraternity, is running for Judge of Vandalia Municipal Court.  Terry has the opportunity to be the first frat brother to ever sit in facing the court room.  Terry has helped many of us in the past: he kept the fraternity on campus, married some of us, divorce others, DUI's, dads with speeding tickets, sons with speeding tickets, DUI's, and there was that one gun incident that involved alcohol, etc.

Well we now have a chance to help Terry realize his life long dream and we have a chance to legitimize all those weddings he performed.

I know there are several Brothers in Vandalia.  I hope you can help him out!

Kevin Kight

As many, if not all, of you know, Kevin "Smiles" Kight (Alpha Mu 1990), a Sergeant with the Panama City Beach Police Department, was killed on duty March 27, 2005. Information regarding the shooting can be found on their website under Fallen Officers. Christina, his wife, has offered her email if you would like to contact her at these email addresses
